Avid sports fan Daniel Pezzola, a graduate of the Catholic University of America and an employee of Washingtonville Pharmacy, has been attending local sports events all his life. Daniel Pezzola follows the Mets and DC United and belongs to the Screaming Eagles, an all-volunteer DC United supporters group.
With more than 1,100 active members, the Screaming Eagles promote the DC United soccer team. The Screaming Eagles club was incorporated in 2004 and has been supporting the soccer team since its inception.
Screaming Eagles events are held before every home game. The club begins its tailgate parties about four hours before kickoff and continues until an hour before the game.
Screaming Eagles members and nonmembers are welcome at the parties as long as they purchase a tailgate pass, which is available at the parties or online and costs $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. At weekend tailgate parties, attendees can enjoy hamburgers, chicken, salads, baked beans, and other game day foods. Beverages, including soda and beer from Fair Winds Brewing Company, are available to attendees. Screaming Eagles members can enjoy free beverages during the events.
